With growing concern around the Omicron variant and the fluid nature of the most recent health and safety guidelines provided by the provincial Public Health Officers, we are reminded that the pandemic is far from behind us. All indications show that we will continue to be fighting COVID-19 well into 2022.
As such, the FVREB must proceed prudently and in adherence to safety protocols, continuing to do our collective part to ensure our collective health and wellbeing.
Coupled with the economic hardships facing many families in our communities impacted by the health and environmental events, this is not the time to be celebrating – as many members have expressed to us over the past weeks.
Accordingly, considering member recommendations and in consultation with the FVREB Board of Directors, out of an abundance of caution, we regrettably announce the cancellation of our 2022 FVREB Medallion Gala.
Medallion Awards will be shipped out to the offices as usual, in late February or early March, depending on when they arrive.
Rest assured that cost savings accruing from the cancellation of the event will be repurposed towards community causes and member benefit, and will not be used for ordinary operating purposes.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we collectively continue to navigate these unprecedented times.
Wishing you a safe and restful holiday season,
Baldev S. Gill
FVREB Chief Executive Officer
