Donate today to the REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive to support people in need in the Fraser Valley

Everything has changed this year, including the REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive. Instead of collecting clothing and blankets to support non-profit and charity groups, we are asking REALTORS®, their brokerages and their clients to make online donations of financial support.

Who are we helping?

The charities we will support offer warmth and comfort to women, men, single-parents, and children in our Fraser Valley communities who are:

  • coping with mental illness;
  • recovering from domestic or substance abuse;
  • struggling to pay for expenses such as rent and food;
  • visiting food banks to help feed family members; or
  • living in low income housing, shelters, or on the street.

Donate today – here’s how

We have set up a fundraising website to collect donations and will distribute the funds to the groups after our campaign wraps up (you can now donate up until the end of day, Nov. 30).

Instructions:

  1. Go to the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board’s Giving Group page: https://my.charitableimpact.com/groups/fraser-valley-real-estate-board
  2. Click on the blue Give button in the top right corner of the page.
  3. Fill out the form that appears to indicate how much you would like to give.
  4. In the box that says, “For Group (optional),” you do not need to type anything.
  5. Click Continue.
  6. Provide your contact information, including an email for your tax receipt. Note: If you are making a donation on behalf of your brokerage, please include your brokerage’s name, contact information and use a company credit card. Otherwise, include your own information.
  7. Be sure to complete all the steps so you get a “thank you” at the end and you are done!

You do not need to create a new Charitable Impact account in order to donate to the Blanket Drive.

Donations of $5 or more will receive a tax receipt from Charitable Impact, a registered Canadian charity. All funds (less credit card processing fees) will be distributed to our Blanket Drive charities at the end of the campaign.

New this year: Earn rewards when you give!

We’ve added an extra incentive to this year’s campaign: Donors will earn different levels of recognition and rewards, depending on how much they give.

For example, if you donate between $50 and $99, you’ll receive a custom REALTORS Care® face mask and a social media badge to share in your email signature or social media accounts like Facebook and Instagram. Your name (if you choose to share it with us) will also be included on a donations list featured on our websites and social media channels.

New rewards thrown in as of November 25!

Between Wednesday, November 25 at 3 pm and Monday, November 30 at 4:30 m, if you donate at least $100 to the Drive, you’ll be entered into new draws for one of four red REALTORS Care®-branded toques and one of five face masks from CREA.
